Hymn Reflection–Each Step I Take

Each step I take my Saviour goes before me,
And with His loving hand He leads the way,
And with each breath I whisper “I adore Thee;”
Oh, what joy to walk with Him each day.

Ref:
Each step I take I know that He will guide me;
To higher ground He ever leads me on.
Until some day the last step will be taken.
Each step I take just leads me closer home.

At times I feel my faith begin to waver,
When up ahead I see a chasm wide.
It’s then I turn and look up to my Saviour,
I am strong when He is by my side.

I trust in God, no matter come what may,
For life eternal in His hand,
He holds the key that opens up the way,
That will lead me to the promised land.

“Allow every situation in your life to become a tapestry that causes you to look more and more like Jesus.” — Pastor Heath

This song is my hearts prayer right now. As my body is getting weaker and definitely more pain and fatigue we need guidance for the next steps. Several doctors recommended Mayo Clinic but they were not able to accept me as a patient. So God has closed that door but there are a couple other opportunities we can explore. It’s time to take the next step but we don’t know what that is yet. In doing some deep questionnaires the Lyme and the co-infections seem to be very evident still. Thankfully I’m doing a little better mentally even though my body is getting worse. That doesn’t mean I have hard discouraging times but I’m able to have a little bit better of a perspective. My favorite verse is the one that says that when we stand at the edge of the chasm we can look up at our Jesus and feel stronger when He is by our side. Such a comfort. God has the key to open up the way. He just asks us to wait on Him and He will open up the doors and that’s what we are asking for. This journey has been tough and I can’t see around the bend. But God does and He knows what is in store for you and each step you take.
