Hymn Reflection — Fear Not I Am With You

Fear not, I am with you, O be not dismayed;
For I am Your God, I will still give you aid.
Iโ€™ll strengthen you, help you, and cause you to stand.
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.

When through the deep waters I call you to go,
The rivers of sorrow will not overflow;
For I will be with you, your troubles to bless,
And sanctify to you your deepest distress.

When thru fiery trials your pathway shall lie,
My grace, all-sufficient will be your supply.
The flame will not hurt you; I only design
Your dross to consume, your gold to refine.

This song came to mind this morning. God reminding me I don’t need to be afraid. Going to a new doctor has me very anxious and afraid. Unfortunately I’ve not always had good experiences with doctors and so I have bad memories. My heart yearns for answers and the tears are flowing. I’m thankful God has promised to be with me because I don’t have strength in myself to ward off the fear. Please pray that this doctor will be willing to listen and work with us to find the source of my thyroid trouble. That Mommy will have the right words to say and I would be able to have strength to endure a long car ride and time spent in a wheelchair. That we would be able to advocate for what might be needed. And much wisdom. I pray for you that you’ll find Christ close to you in the pain and trouble you are in today.
