1 Under His wings I am safely abiding.
Tho’ the night deepens and tempests are wild,
Still I can trust Him; I know He will keep me.
He has redeemed me, and I am His child.

Refrain:
Under His wings, under His wings,
Who from His love can sever?
Under His wings my soul shall abide,
Safely abide forever.

2 Under His wings – what a refuge in sorrow!
How the heart yearningly turns to His rest!
Often when earth has no balm for my healing,
There I find comfort and there I am blessed.

3 Under His wings – O what precious enjoyment!
There will I hide till life’s trials are o’er;
Sheltered, protected, no evil can harm me,
Resting in Jesus, I’m safe evermore.

Looking down through my list of songs this one caught my eye. I was searching for one that would speak to my heart. So as you look over these words, I want you to close your eyes and imagine God’s hand or wings covering us. He wants us to be so completely trust Him. Even though the nights are long, and the trials are difficult. Even when the waves are rolling over us with never ending waves. He can be there and He will say “Peace, be STILL.” But as always we CAN know that we are His child. We must simply come to Him, repent of our sins, believe in Christ and He will save us. We have to be sorry for our sins and turn away from them. And then we can say with assurance that we are resting in Him. Trusting implicitly in Him. We need to be like a little child like Jesus said. I have so much to learn yet. To learn to just run to Him with everything and climb up into His lap and let Him hold me and protect me. I challenge you to try it. Just let Him have complete control and hide under His wings. I hope these words of this hymn can encourage your heart today.

Resting in Jesus, I am safe evermore.
